Rank Group names Richard Harris as CFO
Richard Harris will join Rank Group from the London estate agency Foxtons in May 2022.
UK.- Rank Group has named Richard Harris as its new chief financial offer and will take up the role at the London-listed owner of the Grosvenor Casino and Mecca bingo brands from May 1, 2022. He will also join the group’s board of directors.
Harris has had a long career in corporate finance and is currently CFO at Foxtons, a London-based estate agency, where he has served since June 2019.
Before that, he was group financial controller at Laird. He has also held senior finance roles at Marks and Spencer.
He will replace Rank’s current CFO Bill Floydd, who took up the position in November 2018 and announced his resignation in August to join the British retailer Watches of Switzerland.
Harris will have to face Rank’s disappointing financial performance, which was heavily impacted due to closures of casinos and bingo halls in the UK and Spain during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the group has predicted 69 per cent growth for Q1 2022.
Harris said: “I am delighted to be joining Rank at this exciting time in the group’s journey. I have enjoyed meeting various members of the team and look forward to working closely with them, John and the Board to deliver the group’s strategy.”
Rank’s director of group finance Simon Hay will serve as interim CFO from January 1 until Harris takes up the role in May.
Rank CEO John O’Reilly said: “I am delighted to announce Richard’s appointment as our incoming group CFO. His extensive experience across a number of senior financial and operational roles will be invaluable as we continue to deliver the next phase of Rank’s transformation plan. I look forward to welcoming Richard into the group in 2022.”
