Queensland wants to attract casino developers
The Tourism Minister said that a team of government officials will be in charge of luring casino developers.
Australia.- Queensland Tourism Minister Kate Jones has revealed that she will lead a team that will be in charge of luring worldwide casino developers to the Australian state. The team of government officials will be flying to the biggest gambling cities in the world to meet with executives.
Next week the team will fly to places like Las Vegas and Macau to meet with executives of MGM Grand and Caesar’s Entertainment. There are currently two casino licences available in Cairns and the Gold Coast. “Our strategy is all based around attracting more visitors who stay longer and spend more in Queensland to create jobs for locals,” said Jones.
The Minister said that the goal is to see casino resorts built in Queensland with complete accommodation options, retail and entertainment venues. “I have been approached by some of the world’s most successful entertainment companies keen to invest in Queensland. But we’re working to make sure we get the balance right for Queenslanders,” said Jones.
