Poker rooms grow in Maryland

The four poker rooms featured in Maryland reported a 27.8 percent growth in May.

US.- The Maryland Lottery and Gaming reported that the four facilities that offer poker in the state grew 27.8 percent last month to US$3.76 million. In just 2017, the poker rooms collected approximately US$20 million.

Just like casino revenue, MGM National Harbor was the top scorer in the state as it reported gainings of US$1.69 million, with Maryland Live being a close second with US$1.41 million. The third spot was stolen by Horseshoe Baltimore, which reached US$565.000, and a little behind comes Hollywood Casino Perryville with US$88.000.

MGM’s newest casino has topped Maryland Live in every month of 2017 so far, as cardplayer.com revealed. The results are up from the US$2.94 million reported in May 2016. Those results lacked the fourth poker room that opened with MGM National Harbor.

Moreover, MGM’s newest casino generated US$50.5 million from slot machines and table games, whilst Maryland Live Casino registered US$45.8 million. Horseshoe Casino totaled US$23 million, and the Hollywood Casino Perryville managed to get the fourth position with US$6.3 million. The state’s six casinos totaled US$136.5 million in May.
