Philippines to increase supervision

More police officers will be involved in casinos as they’re set to supervise colleagues after the alleged participation in a murder.

Philippines.- Ronald dela Rosa, director general of the Philippines National Police (PNP) revealed on Tuesday that they’re planning on increasing supervision at gambling facilities after an alleged involvement of the police in the kidnap and murder of a junket operator.

The official said that cops will be placed in casinos to monitor other cops after PNP officers engaged in an incident with gang members suspected of kidnapping and murdering a junket operator that worked in one of the casinos in Manila. Among the members that were killed three were current and former PNP officers, whilst a fourth surrendered to the police and pointed out Southern Police District Superintendent Johnny Orme as one of the leaders.

The director general said that they have plans to post intelligence personnel at Entertainment City and monitor policemen who usually spend time in the zone. “If they are there to gamble, where did they get the money? If they are to hang out, what is the reason why they are there?”
