Philippines’ GGR to reach €20bn by the end of the year

The PAGCOR chair said that the billionaire figure would represent a 14% increase from 2017.

Philippines.- Andrea Domingo, chair of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), has stated that she expects gaming gross revenue (GGR) to reach the €20 billion mark by the end of the current year.

Domingo explained that the figure would represent a 14% rise when compared to 2017, and a 3.2% increase over the estimated forecast set at the beginning of the year. The chair said that the local industry expects to keep increasing revenues thanks to a growing contribution from online gaming, as well as the attractiveness of integrated resorts.

“Our performance this year is better than expected for both the private integrated resorts and the Pagcor-owned casinos,” said Domingo, and predicted that GGR would experience another increase to €23 billion by 2019, another 13% from 2018.
