Pennsylvania’s gaming revenue up 11 pct in October

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has announced that total gaming revenue during October operations was up 11%.

US.- The gaming sector in Pennsylvania posted a good performance in October, as total gaming revenue rose 11% to US$283 million. The figures from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) include sports betting, online gaming, slot machines and table games, as well as DFS contests and video gaming terminals.

Parx Casino was the facility that registered the biggest share of the total revenue with US$54.6 million, representing a 15.9% increase from the US$47 million that the facility had achieved in October 2018. Wind Creek Bethlehem totalled US$39.6 million, or a 2.67 million, while Rivers Casino Pittsburgh and Rivers Casino Philadelphia totalled US$32 million and US$30.2 million respectively.

Total tax revenue generated collectively through all forms of gaming and fantasy contests was US$116.4 million during October of 2019 compared to US$108.2 in October 2018.

October’s gross revenue from slot machines at the 12 casinos was US$186.9 million, a 0.36% increase in revenue when compared to the US$186.2 million generated in October 2018. The average number of slot machines operating on a daily basis was 23,786 during October 2019 compared to 25,407 at the casinos in October 2018.

Table games revenue for October 2019 was $73,162,270, an increase of 10% over October of last year when revenue was US$66.5 million. Total tax revenue from table games play during October was US$11.7 million with an average of 1,301 tables in daily operation statewide.

Online casino games generated gross revenue of US$4.9 million during October. That figure is 19.5% higher than the previous month of September 2019 when revenue was US$4.1 million.

Video gaming terminals

Total adjusted revenue for October 2019 was US$466.3k. Each of the establishments operates the maximum – five machines. Two operators have thus far placed VGT’s in a total of 11 truck stop establishments, with the first VGT establishment opening in August of this year.

DFS

Fantasy Contest Revenue was US$3.2 million in October 2019, an increase of 12.45% over October of last year when revenue was US$2.9 million. Tax revenue collected from the play of fantasy contests in October of this year was US$489k.
