Penn National to launch first Barstool sportsbook at a Pennsylvania casino
The gaming company will launch the first physical sportsbook and bar venue by Barstool in Pennsylvania at Hollywood Casino York in late August.
US.- Penn National has announced it will launch the first East Coast Barstool Sportsbook and bar located at a Pennsylvania casino, the Hollywood Casino York.
According to a company, the mini-casino is scheduled to open in late August in a repurposed section of the York Galleria Mall.
The Hollywood Casino York General Manager Ruben Warren anticipated the move a few weeks ago when he mentioned Barstool Sportsbook & Bar was pending arrival during his welcome greeting on the mini-casino’s website.
He said: “The casino will include a new concept Barstool Sportsbook and Bar with exciting interactive experiences”.
Although Barstool already has a significant presence as a mobile sportsbook in Pennsylvania, it still doesn’t have any physical venues.
The Hollywood casino had a sportsbook before the Covid-19 pandemic, but although a betting window and kiosks are still available, the sports lounge is now closed. It will reopen with a new look and the Barstool name.
Penn National has announced it acquired the 36 per cent interest in Barstool Sports for $163m last year.
