PAGCOR will grant iGaming licenses
The Philippines seek to boost the casino industry with foreign players, whilst discouraging national gambling.
Philippines.- In an attempt to develop the online gaming industry in the Asian country, the maximum authority in the field PAGCOR, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., announce the beginning of license process for “offshore operators.”
Online casino providers will be able to apply for a US$50,000 license. The sports betting application will cost US$40,000. Once the license is granted, the cost would be of US$200,000 for online casinos and US$150,000 for sports betting permission.
PAGCOR will prioritise offshore operators to begin the business in Philippines, furthermore, local players are likely to still be prohibited. Even if an operator becomes a member of the POGO (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators), they are not allowed to take in customers from the Philippines.
