Pagcor to record $1.2bn gross income

According to Pagcor’s chairwoman Andrea Domingo, the Philippine corporation is set to reach a US$1.2 billion gross income in 2017.

Philippines.- 2017 is almost over and companies around the world are assessing their financial results for last year. The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) has reviewed its operations and, according to chairwoman Andrea Domingo, it’s set to reach a projected gross income of US$1.2 billion by the end of this year.

Pagcor launched its Aqua Planet waterpark, the biggest in the Philippines, and Ms Domingo took the opportunity to make the announcement: “In 2016, it became [US$1.08 billion] and we are projecting this year to [US$1.2 billion]. I am stating this because now that we have Aqua Planet here, there will be more people coming in and there will be more potential players,” she said.

The Philippine company had already recorded a major increase in 2016 after seeing its gaming revenue jumping 17 percent from 2015 to US$1.086.000.000, thanks to new income taxes collection policies and by issuing new Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) licenses.

Ms Domingo also highlighted the expansion of the Clark International Airport and the impact it’ll have for the region and projected a great future for the Aqua Planet waterpark: “I am sure that this facility will be very successful because Clark would one of the biggest economic hub in the country in the near future,” she added.
