Pagcor approves PhilWeb services
The local gaming corporation approved PhilWeb to offer services to 16 eGames cafes.
Phillipines.- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) revealed that 16 of its eGames cages will receive services from game technology provider PhilWeb Corp. The news were revealed in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange.
PhilWeb said during the disclosure that Pagcor will be in charge of inspecting and testing the electronic games before they’re distributed to the eGames cafes. “We wish to inform the Exchange that PhilWeb received today a letter from [PAGCOR] allowing it to offer its services as an Electronic Gaming System Provider to the first 16 PAGCOR-licensed gaming sites for electronic games, subject to inspection and testing by PAGCOR,” said a letter written by PhilWeb, which was signed by Corporate Information Officer Raymund Aquino.
A week after PhilWeb announced that it would be able to resume operations in the country, Pagcor released a clarification regarding the Certificate of Accreditation that was granted to the operator. The regulator said that whilst PhilWeb did receive a Certificate of Accreditation as an electronic gaming system (EGS) provider to licensed sites, it does not have the permission to resume operations: in order to be able to operate again, PhilWeb needs to seek a third party audit service provider.
“The third party audit service or Electronic Management Gaming System (EMGS) provider – which is still in the process of procurement – will oversee the compliance of all gaming service providers. More importantly, the EGMS will ensure the veracity of information provided by licensees and operators with regard to player registrations, player account controls, player funds, reporting, audit, among others,” said Pagcor in a statement.
