PhilWeb could operate again
Philippines’ local gaming corporation could allow PhilWeb to run in the country if it changes its operations.
Philippines.- Chair of the Philippines Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor), Andrea Domingo, said in an interview with ANC’s Headstart that PhilWeb could operate in the country again if it only choses a single function.
PhilWeb was working as a provider, owner and audit service provider, and as Domingo said, Pagcor wants the company’s new chairman Gregorio Araneta III to pick just one. “They can still participate. They can own the station or they can provide games. Either you own the station where people play or you buy the games from other. You don’t provide the games anymore. Audit service is going to be different.”
On the other hand, PhilWeb said that the company is still waiting for an official order from the corporation: “We are waiting for official communication from PAGCOR though. I will let you know once we receive their letter,” said Dennis Valdes, current president and corporate information officer of PhilWeb.
