The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board renewed Mount Airy Casino #1, LLC’s category 2 casino operator license.
US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board unanimously voted to renew the Category 2 Casino Operator’s License of Mount Airy Casino #1, LLC, operator of the Mount Airy Casino Resort in Monroe County.
The seven member Board considered that Mount Airy Casino #1, LLC had fulfilled the obligations under its previously-approved casino operator’s license and therefore qualified to have its license renewed for an additional three-year period.
The license renewal was based on a process used by the Board that enables both the operator and the public to provide information relevant to the decision. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board was established in 2004 and is responsible for overseing all aspects of the state’s casino industry.
Since its opening in October 2007, Mount Airy Casino Resort has generated nearly US$1.6 billion in gross revenue from slot machines and table games. This amount resulted in a return to the Commonwealth of more than US$800 million in gaming tax revenue. The casino currently operates over 1,850 slot machines and 80 table games, whilst employing approximately 1,100 people.
