Ottawa may approve new casino
Ottawa authorities may release today the permission to expand Rideau Carleton Raceway with gaming services.
Canada.- The government of Ottawa is near the approval of a new gaming facility in the capital city, as the Rideau Carleton Raceway could offer further casino services. Authorities have been discussing gaming expansion proposal for the last five years, but today the plan could finally take effect as the government may approve Hard Rock’s project.
In October, the Rideau Carleton Raceway is expected to set an agreement with the American casino company in order to hand over the management. Hard Rock would become the official operator of the facility, which would expand current casino services with gaming tables (blackjack, roulette, etc.), as reported by Metro News Canada.
The government received experts’ reports on casino expansion, allowing Hard Rock to obtain Canada’s gaming permission. The comprehensive report including opinions and evaluations will go before the Finance and Economic Development Committee today, as revealed by the local press and government.
The Rideau Carleton Raceway in southern Ottawa currently operates only specialised platforms related to racing industry and slots machines. However, the latest update on gaming license could allow Hard Rock International to add further attractions. The gaming company commented they would invest US$320 million on renovation plans in within the following years.
