Operators trial Spanish gambling support helpline
The trial is part of an agreement signed by Jdigital and Spanish gambling support body FEJAR.
Spain.- The online gambling trade association Jdigital has signed an agreement to collaborate with the problem-gambling specialist FEJAR.
The agreement sees eight Jdigital members – Codere, Ebingo, Entain, Flutter, Sisal, Sportium, Wanabet and Winamax – beginning to trial a new gambling support helpline managed by FEJAR.
The freephone helpline (900 533 025) will be promoted across the operators’ digital assets.

FEJAR is described as Spain’s oldest support body offering treatment of gambling addiction and compulsive behaviours.
Jdigital president Andrea Vota said: “We are very proud of joining forces with Fejar in the fight against problematic gambling in Spain.
“Our members have a strong commitment to their users and society in general, as well as with our goal of promoting safe and responsible environments for online gambling activity as a responsible form of entertainment.”

Independent gambling support
Vota said that Jdigital’s relationship with FEJAR would be entirely transparent.
FEJAR will publish independent reports on the progress of the helpline, which will be attended by FEJAR-trained professionals and will refer callers to Spain’s regional health service for treatment.
Operators’ promotion of the helpline will contribute to satisfying safer gambling requirements under Spain’s new Royal Decree on Responsible Gambling, which obliges licensed operators to offer direct links to information services on safer gambling.
Jdigital said that it would be willing to share data with Spain’s national health service and agencies specialising in healthcare and addiction research.
Maxi Gutiérrez, president of FEJAR said: “This is the first phone number to be launched in collaboration with the Spanish online gambling association.
“We are pleased to have signed this agreement with Jdigital and some of the main online gambling companies in the country, because it highlights the importance of joining efforts on the fight against problematic gambling, a task that has been FEJAR’s main goal since its foundation in 1991.”
