Ontario Lottery chooses new operator
Gateway Casinos And Entertainment Limited will land in Ontario and will become the most diversified gaming company of Canada.
Canada.- The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) presented the Canadian company Gateway Casinos And Entertainment Limited as the new service provider for North and Southwest Gaming Bundles. Thanks to the recent agreement, the operator became the most diversified gaming company of the country.
“Our Ontario expansion marks an important next step in Gateway’s growth strategy, one that has seen us successfully rebuild properties, develop proprietary brands and grow into new markets,” said Gabriel de Alba, Gateway’s executive chairman. “We have made significant investments in jobs and capital in the communities where we operate in BC and Alberta. In Ontario, we look forward to continuing to invest, build and grow,” he added.
Gateway will operate eleven facilities in Ontario; nine of them are already installed, whilst the company will construct two others. The North existing Gaming Bundle are OLG Casinos in Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie, as well as OLG Slots at Sudbury Downs. Gateway expects to also obtain properties in Kenora and North Bay.
The Southwest exiting Gaming Bundle are OLG Casino Point Edward along with OLG Slots at Western Fair District in London and OLG Slots at Clinton, Dresden, Hanover, and Woodstock Racetracks. “We are very excited and pleased to partner with OLG in the modernisation of Ontario’s gaming industry. In Northern and Southwestern Ontario, Gateway will work with host communities to bring our unique brands and experiences to customers.
