Oneidas set sports betting launch
The Oneida tribe has set August 1 as the launch for sports betting in its Central New York casinos.
US.- The Oneida Indian Nation’s Turning Stone and Point Place casinos are getting ready to open their sports betting lounges in August 1. The three Central New York facilities are part of a group of state casinos looking to kickoff the sports betting industry in the state.
The Oneida’s facilities in Central New York would be operated in partnership with Caesars Entertainment. All of the sportsbooks would combine food and beverage services in a sports bar setting with betting windows and kiosks.
The three casinos are among the eight sports betting lounged under construction or development in Upstate New York. All of them are expected to open this summer and before the upcoming football season (NFL).
Each sportsbook will be called The Lounge with Caesars Sports. The partnership with the casino operator was reached in January. They will feature “large 4K screens, state-of-the-art television programming from multiple sources, constantly updating odds boards, custom-made luxury seating, VIP areas with their own dedicated TV screens, award-winning food, and beautiful full-service bars serving fan-favourite beer and craft cocktails.”
Rivers Casino, located in Schenectady, will kick off its sportsbook this morning at 10 am. The new lounge will be adjacent to the Van Slyck existing one, which is located off the main gaming floor. The viewing area features a 53-foot-long video wall and table seating that can accommodate around 80 people. This new sportsbook is set to improve visitor’s experience too.
