Three people including the suspected gunman have been killed in a shooting at Oneida Casino located in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
US.- Oneida Casino in Green Bay, Wisconsin, witnessed a shooting in which three people were killed and one seriously wounded on Saturday.
The suspected perpetrator was among the dead, having being shot by police. The incident occurred at the casino’s restaurant.
In a press conference, Chief Joel Maxam and Lt. Kevin Pawoak of Brown County Sheriff’s Office said other people were shot at the Radisson Hotel, which is connected to the Oneida casino.
It is believed that the perpetrator’s motive was connected to a specific employee of the casino, who was the main target: “He was targeting a specific victim who was not there, but he decided to still shoot some of the victim’s friends or co-workers, it appears,” Pawoak said.
One person is currently being treated at a Milwaukee hospital.
Jawad Yatim, a witness at the scene said: “He was shooting pretty aggressively in the building, so I wouldn’t doubt him hitting other people.”
The Sheriff’s department has asked anyone who witnessed the shooting to communicate with them immediately.
Governor Tony Evers published a statement, saying: “Our hearts, thoughts, and support go out to the Oneida Nation, the Ashwaubenon and Green Bay communities, and all those affected by this tragedy.
“While we are waiting for more information, we hope and pray those who were injured will recover and are grateful for the first responders who quickly responded to the situation.”
The Oneida tribe’s reservation lies on the west side of the Green Bay area. Officials from Oneida Nation said all casino locations would be closed until further notice.
