Okada Manila confirms opening

Japan’s Universal Entertainment had delayed its opening due to unfavorable economic situation and government policies.

Philippines.- The US$2.4 billion resort in Manila announced its grand opening for December 21. The mother company Universal Entertainment Corp confirmed during a report to the Tokyo Stock Exchange that the construction work on Phase 1 is almost completed.

The Phase 1 of the casino resort that includes a casino, a hotel, multiple restaurants, and different attractions for non-gambling customers is set in 22 hectares, almost half of the entire property. Okada Manila was originally called Manila Bay Resorts and it was scheduled for march 2015, but the developers requested Pagcor a deadline extension, which was granted later that year.

Okada Manila will feature a casino floor with 500 gaming tables and more than 3,000 slots machines. it will be the largest integrated resort to open doors in the Philippines. The complex is part of a major project introduced by the country’s government several years ago.
