Ohio facilities hit revenue record in January
The 11 casinos and racinos in Ohio have registered US$167 million in revenue during January’s operations and set a new record.
US.- The Ohio Lottery and Casino Control commissions have released the financial figures from January, showing that the 11 casinos and racinos in the state registered record revenues during last month’s operations.
In January, Ohio facilities recorded US$167 million in gambling revenue after paying out winnings. Gambling revenue rose 19% year-on-year, from US$140.7 million to US$167 million. This increase can be attributed to an extra Friday in January 2020 when compared to the same period in 2019.
All four casinos and seven racinos in Ohio reported higher revenue in January 2020 than in January 2019. While Hollywood Casino Columbus was the top casino performer last month, MGM Northfield Park led the racinos category.
Ohio also set revenue record in 2019
During 2019, racinos and casinos in the state posted an all-time high US$1.95 billion, which is up 4.2% from 2018. The Ohio Casino Control Commission revealed figures – which don’t include the track’s race betting revenue and others – and celebrated results.
The four casinos reached a 1.6% year-on-year increase to US$851m, while the seven racinos in Ohio brought in US$1.1 billion.
