Ocean Resort Casino obtains casino licence

The Atlantic City facility obtained its licence a week before its scheduled grand opening.

US.- Ocean Resort Casino, the former Revel casino, is scheduled to reopen its doors on June 28th, and has now obtained a licence from the state regulator to operate its gambling services. The casino will start offering online gambling on July 1st

The US$2.4 billion property had shut down in September 2014 after two years of operations in which it didn’t report any profits. Bruce Deifik bought the casino in January for US$200 million in hopes that his management could identify and solve why customers weren’t attracted before.

Among some of the changes that the casino will present at its opening are that it will now allow smoking and single-night stays, and offer generous player loyalty benefits, as well as a revamped casino floor. While Revel focused on high-end customers, Ocean Resort will be open to all players.

Frank Leone, Ocean Resort’s CEO, said: “If you’re someone betting $5 or $10, how often does someone come up to you, shake your hand, ask how your day is coming and ask if there’s anything you need? We are going to ensure that customers who don’t get personal attention at other properties get personal attention here.” The state regulator said that Ocean Resort must maintain at least US$36 million of liquidity at all times.
