Ocean Resort Casino announces opening date
The Atlantic City facility is set to host its grand opening on June 28th, the same day Hard Rock will open its doors.
US.- Ocean Resort Casino’s executives have officially announced June 28th as the grand opening date for the facility. The former TEN and Revel Casino will open its doors the same day the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City is expected to hold its grand opening.
Executives picked that day because they consider that it will be a special one for Atlantic City, as it is expected that the two openings will help the city improve its revenues and boost the local industry. Ocean Resort CEO Frank Leone said: “[June 28th] is a culmination of all of our planning and we know that this will be a special day for Atlantic City as it turns the page on a new chapter of revitalisation.”
The Boardwalk property will offer 138,000 square feet of gaming space featuring 2,200 slot machines and 100 table games. Ocean Resort Casino would maintain the 165,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, in addition to the 5,700-seat concert hall with room for possible future expansion.
“Our team has been working diligently since we acquired the property in January and have put a great deal of time and effort into creating a truly unique and memorable destination guest experience,” said Bruce Deifik, chairman of AC Ocean Walk, the company that owns the casino-hotel.
Revel Casino cost US$2.4 billion and opened to the public in 2012 before closing in 2014. Between Hard Rock and Ocean Resort, Atlantic City is expected to recover 6000 of the 11,000 jobs that were lost since 2014 due to these shutdowns.
