Novibet names Yiannis Stravroulas as chief technology officer 

Stravroulas describes the appointment as a “big step out of my comfort zone” as he prepares for a “blitz international expansion across 10 countries in three continents”.

Greece.- Novibet has named Yiannis Stravroulas as its new Chief Technology Officer. He will have a mandate to harness artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies for the Greek gambling operator.

Novibet is a leading operator both domestically and in Cyprus, while it also has an international footprint across with a presence in Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Canada, Ireland and Finland. Allwyn, which recently bought the Greek lottery operator OPAP, had intended to buy the operator but its Novibet acquisition deal fell through due to competition concerns.

Announcing the appointment, Novibet said Stravroulas would play a key role in furthering its ambition to become a “global GameTech company.” Previously Chief Operations Officer at Greek IT firm Cognity, he will be responsible for strengthening Novibet’s technological infrastructure, product innovation, customer experience and overall growth strategy.

On LinkedIn, Stravroulas wrote: “Joining Novibet is a big step out of my comfort zone. I take it strengthened by experience, and genuinely excited by the opportunity to learn and grow along with the company – and this means clocking ~ 30 per cent year-on-year, with blitz international expansion across 10 countries in three continents!” 

He added: “Here technology is not a supporting function, but an essential part of the core business. With a strong, proven team, it’s the engine propelling the company forward.”
