Total revenue up 13 pct in Pennsylvania

PGCB, the gambling regulator from Pennsylvania, has reported that total gaming revenue increased 13% in November.

US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has released the financial figures from last month’s operations. Pennsylvania increased its total revenue by 13% during November’s operations to US$292 million.

Parx Casino generated US$54.2 million in total revenue during November operations, which is a 12.5% increase when compared to the same month in 2018. Wind Creek Bethlehem was the second biggest revenue generator with US$40.1 million, but it represents a 0.4% year-on-year setback.

Rivers Casino Pittsburgh and Rivers Casino Philadelphia generated US$33.4 million and US$29.5 million respectively, or a 14.4% and 23.3% increase.

Total tax revenue generated collectively through all forms of gaming and fantasy contests was US$119 million during November of 2019 compared to US$107 million in November 2018.

November’s gross revenue from slot machines at the 12 casinos was US$189 million, a 3.4% increase in revenue when compared to the US$183 million generated in November 2018. The average number of slot machines operating on a daily basis was 24,125 during November 2019 compared to 25,316 at the casinos in November 2018.

Table games revenue for November 2019 was US$74 million, an increase of 4.8% over November of last year when revenue was US$71 million. Total tax revenue from table games play during November was US$11.9 million with an average of 1,270 tables in daily operation statewide.

Casino games offered online generated gross revenue of US$9 million during November. That figure is 95% higher than the previous month of October 2019 when revenue was US$4.9 million. Tax revenue generated from internet gaming play during November was US$3.4 million.

Sports betting

November’s total sports wagering handle from both retail and online outlets was US$316.4 million, 31% above the previous month’s wager total of US$241.1 million.  At the same time, the taxable revenue figure for November of this year was slightly lower than October 2019, US$14.7 million compared to US$14.9 million.

VGTs

Total adjusted revenue for November 2019 for video gaming terminals (VGTs) was US$659k compared to US$466k in October, an increase of 41%. Each of the establishments operated the maximum of 5 machines. By the close of November, two operators had placed VGT’s in a total of 15 truck stop establishments.

DFS

Fantasy Contests revenue was US$2.9 million in November 2019, a decrease of 8.02% over November of last year when revenue was US$3.2 million. Tax revenue collected from the play of Fantasy Contests in November of this year was US$447k.
