NIGC releases financial report
National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) reported growths among native casino operations.
US.- US tribal casinos have generated a breaking-record growth of US$30 billion in year-on-year gross gaming revenue. The historical results were published this week by the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC).
“The stable growth is reflective of a healthy and well-regulated industry with a tremendous impact on local and state economies,” said Jonodev O. Chaudhuri, Chairman of the NIGC, to the Gambling Insider.
Tribal casino operations grew 4.4 percent since 2015, achieving a total of US$31.2 billion. Meanwhile, commercial casinos have only grown 1.1 percent. The NIGC document is based on financial reports from 244 federally-recognised tribes that operate casino venues in 29 states.
St. Paul region showed the lowest increase of 1.1 percent, whilst Sacramento region in California reported the highest growth of 6.3 percent to US$8.4 billion.
