Niagara’s casinos show record earnings

2015 was a fantastic year for the two Niagara Falls casinos located on the Canadian side of the Niagara River.

Canada.- According to data released by Falls Management Group LP, Niagara Casinos received a record earning in 2015 with nearly US$533 million generated in gross gaming revenue.

Art Frank, President of Niagara Casinos expressed, “Our winning mix included the right number of great associates working together to deliver superior customer service, a suite of innovative marketing initiatives that resonated with our customers, and favourable economic factors like the weak Canadian dollar and low gas prices that boosted tourism in the area.”

Frank added that 9.2 million people visited the casinos in 2015, up to 5.4 percent compared to the previous year. Hotel occupancy remained at 100 percent and the theatre’s occupancy rate was 98 percent over 296 performances.

Niagara Casinos continued its policy of sponsorship for community events and destination marketing initiatives throughout 2015 that amounted to nearly US$760,000, including the United Way of Niagara Falls, Niagara Parks Commission’s summer fireworks program, Niagara Falls’ New Year’s Eve in The Park and the Winter Festival of Lights.

Last week, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) notified Falls Management its contract will not be renewed when it expires in 2019 and a new service provider will be selected to run the two gambling resorts.
