Niagara Falls casinos to reopen next week
Despite initial uncertainty, Niagara Falls casinos will start operating on July 23.
US.- About 1,000 workers are returning as Niagara Falls casinos prepare to reopen on July 23. Both the Casino Niagara and Fallsview Casino Resort are expected to open to the public under Step 3 in Ontario‘s Covid-19 reopening plan.
The venues had been reluctant to operate under capacity restrictions, arguing that their business would not be profitable. However, they have decided to go ahead with opening at 50 per cent capacity.
Richard Taylor, president of Niagara Casinos, said: “Based on the provincial capacity restrictions on our gaming floor, and our focus on ensuring that the health and safety of our associates and our guests remain our top priority, we will continue to gradually add staff as we reopen amenities within provincial restrictions and sustainable business levels.”
Fallsview Casino Resort will operate 24 hours a day, initially with slots, and then with limited table games from July 30. Casino Niagara will operate 10am – 2am. Table games and the poker room will not be available.
