More casinos in New York take sports bets
The latest casino in New York to offer sports betting will be del Lago Resort & Casino, which kicks off its operations tomorrow.
US.- The sports betting industry keeps growing in the United States, and New York casinos want to be part of it. That is why del Lago Resort & Casino will kick off its sports betting operations tomorrow.
The opening ceremony of the sportsbook will feature former NFL Pro Bowler and Syracuse University quarterback Donovan McNabb. The facility will feature 23 self-service betting kiosks and seating for approximately 200 people. The DraftKings Sportsbook will show events on 1,000 square feet of LED video screens and 16 TV sets.
The sports betting industry in New York kicked off recently, after the Gaming Commission approved regulations earlier this year. After that, New York became the ninth state in the US to legalise and regulate sports betting.
del Lago is the fourth casino to open a sportsbook in Upstate New York so far this year. Rivers Casino, Tioga Downs, Turning Stone and Point Place are the facilities that already offer their sports betting services. Resorts World Catskills, on the verge of declaring bankruptcy, is the only casino in the area without an open sportsbook.
