New Paddy Power Betfair boss assumes role

Peter Jackson has officially begun his tenure as Paddy Power Betfair’s chief executive.

UK.- 42-year-old Jackson succeeeds Breon Corcoran, who left the bookmaker’s board on January 7.

Jackson joins from global payments business WorldPay, where he served as chief executive. Prior to that, he spent six years at foreign exchange group Travelex.

He has also been an independent, non-executive director of Paddy Power Betfair for some time, even before the merger.

Earlier in his career, Jackson served in a number of roles at Lloyds Banking Group and HBOS.

Speaking of his appointment back in August, Jackson said, “I am excited about the prospect of joining the Paddy Power Betfair executive team.

“Paddy Power Betfair has some of the leading brands in the global gaming industry and the business has great prospects.”

Breon Corcoran, the man under whose leadership the billion dollar merger deal of Paddy Power and Betfair was carried out, announced his departure in August 2017 taking the industry by surprise.
