New Jersey’s online poker market led by Caesars

The casino company has become the new leader of New Jersey’s online poker market.

US.- New Jersey’s online poker market has shared its leader position between PokerStars and Borgata for quite some time, but Caesars Interactive Entertainment has improved its operations and has topped both companies during May operations.

The latest numbers released by the state gambling regulator indicate that Caesars passed PokerStars in the revenue ranking in May. PokerStars had topped the market ever since it launched its operations in April 2016, and last month results showed Caesars posting more revenue than its rivals for the first time since the state legalised the online gaming industry almost five years ago.

Caesar’s improvement could be driven by the state joining the Multi-State Internet Gaming Association (MSIGA), as the company is the sole operator of online poker in Delaware and Nevada, the other two states that integrate that agreement.

Last month, online casinos totalled US$24.3 million in gross revenue, generating US$4.3 million in taxes in May. Revenue was up 5.6 per cent from the US$23.02 million registered in April.
