2019, most profitable year for NJ’s online gambling market
With December numbers in, New Jersey’s online gambling vertical has recorded its most profitable year yet.
US.- The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) has released the December total gaming revenue results. The latest report shows that US$287.3 million were perceived in total gaming revenue during last month’s operations. This figure is an 11% increase over the US$258.9 million that the state had registered in December 2018.
Online gambling operations in the state totalled a combined US$78.7 million in revenue in December, a slight decrease from the US$82 million registered in November. This brings the combined total online gambling revenue in 2019 to US$782.1 million.
New Jersey’s online gambling segment increased revenues by 61.6% in one year, as the total from 2018 was US$392.7 million, and setting 2019 as the most profitable to date, according to BonusSeeker.com.
Sports betting was another vertical that experienced stellar results in 2019. Revenues totalled US$299.3 million, a significant increase from the US$94 million from 2018.
Total gaming revenue
The industry’s total gaming revenue in 2019 was US$3.4 billion, up 19.5% from the US$2.9 billion in the prior period. According to the figures from the DGE, casino win was US$2.6 billion or a 7% increase over 2018.
