Gaming win falls in Nevada

The state registered flat results in gaming win during March operations, but Nevada still managed to hit the US$1 billion mark.

US.- The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) reported that casino gaming win during Mach operations experienced flat results. However, despite the gaming win fall in Nevada, the industry managed to reach the US$1 billion mark during last month’s operations.

March 2019 was the second straight month in which gaming win (total won by casinos against players for slot machines, table games, etc) surpassed the US$1 billion figure. March 2019 was also the best performance of this year for Nevada.

However, March was also the second straight month that win decreased by less than 1% when compared to the same month in 2018. The Las Vegas Strip experienced a 3.8% decrease in win to US$551.9 million, while Clark County win was down 0.61% to US$882.8 million.

Moreover, March Madness and the end of the National Basketball Association (NBA) season helped Nevada’s sportsbook generate a record US$495.1 million in basketball bets written. March 2019 is the first time since March 2004 that sports betting exceeded the baccarat volume.

Casinos won US$32.5 million in sports bets, which is a 4.8% decrease from a year ago.
