Nevada revenue grew in March
Nevada gaming revenue rose 7.45 percent year to year as it reached US$991 million in March, almost US$70 million higher than 2016.
US.- Nonrestricted gaming license holders in Nevada registered a total gaming win of US$991 million during March, according to the state officials. The numbers represent an increase of 7.45 percent year to year, as the industry recorded US$922.3 million worth of winnings in the same month of 2016.
The gaming win has increased 3.2 percent for the fiscal year (starting July 1 2016 and up to March 31 2017). As for slot machine revenue, there was also an increase of 6.3 percent to US$655.4 million and win from table games and sports betting rose 9.8 percent to US$335.6 million.
Meanwhile, Poker raised US$9.8 million, Blackjack grew 12 percent to US$112 million and sports books won US$31.4 million, following March Madness (NCAA basketball playoffs) record amount bet. Roulette couldn’t keep its resurgence and fell 3 percent to US$28.6 million.
In the first three months of the year, Nevada’s casinos won aroung US$3 billion from gamblers, an increase of 4.8 percent year to year. Tax revenue collected by the state has also risen by 10.4 percent as it reached US$80.5 million only in March.
