NetBet will offer Bitcoin payments
The gaming operator will become the first UK site to add Bitcoin as a payment option.
UK.- NetBet announced the addition of Bitcoins in its site’s payment option for the UK online gambling market. Official Bitcoin payments will enter in the regional online sports betting and casino industry for the first time, under NetBet label, licensed by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), and Bitcoin processing firm BitPay.
According to a statement issued on Monday at BitPay’s newsletter, NetBet “decided to start accepting Bitcoin to reach the growing digital currency user base in the UK (the United States and other restricted countries are not included).” BitPay confirmed that the company has worked with the gambling operator to fulfil the UKGC requirements for iGaming activities and payment options.
“Since Bitcoin is new to the regulated gambling industry in Europe, we’ve worked closely with NetBet to ensure that the addition of this new payment method meets their existing UK Gambling Commission regulatory requirements. NetBet customers will now have the option to use Bitcoin to load their online account funds in seconds. This Bitcoin checkout option will allow more NetBet users to get back to playing and placing bets with the peace of mind that their transactions won’t expose them to the risk of online payment fraud,” concluded BitPay’s statement.
