Name revealed for upcoming New York casino
Resorts World Catskills is the new name of the casino that is part of a US$1.2 billion resort in New York.
US.- Empire Resort Inc announced that the upcoming casino that will be opened in Sullivan, New York will be called Resorts World Catskills. Back in January the company finalized the the final details of the financing plan they needed for the US$1.2 billion project.
Formerly known as Montreign Resort Casino, the Empire state casino experienced a rebrand after a market research that concluded that the new name pays homage to the Catskills region of New York, where Sullivan County is located. Emanuel Pearlman, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Empire, said that the name Resorts World Catskills melds the allure of the Catskills region with the prestige of the Resorts World family.
“This recognized worldwide gaming and hospitality brand will provide us greater power to market our resort casino, which is designed to meet five-star and five-diamond standards, and provide regional, national and international exposure for the Catskills region,” he added.
The subsidiary of the company obtained a US$485 million loan in January that was separated in two different dates. The complex will feature a 80,000-sq. ft casino, 390 hotel rooms and suites, resort amenities, casual and gourmet restaurants, spa and salon, conference and meeting rooms and banquet facilities. Resorts World Catskills is scheduled to open to the public in 2018.
