NagaCorp to invest in Chinese players

The Cambodian company will build a high-speed railway to link a Chinese city with Russia’s gambling zone Primorye.

Russia.- Casino operator NagaCorp has revealed its intentions to build a US$12 billion high-speed railway that would link the northeastern Chinese city of Mudanjiang with Russia’s gambling zone Primorye, located outside Vladivostok.

The project is very important for the gambling zone’s success as it targets Chinese tourists, one of the key players when it comes to gambling consumers. The company is set to open one of the eight casinos of the region, Naga Vladivostok, in 2019, in hopes to compete with Macau due to its extensive border shared with China.

Russian media RBC reported that NagaCorp has partnered with Dongfang Group, a Chinese rail concern, in order to implement the project. “NagaCorp has helped to bring in China Railway Dongfang Group because it needs to attract a massive tourist flow, primarily from China, to successfully develop its business. And it encouraged the Chinese investor to carry out this project,” said a source to the news outlet.
