My Sportwetten conducts survey on bookmakers
German bookmaker comparison portal My Sportwetten conducted a survey on which bookmakers’ features players like the most.
Germany.- Along with the restart of football in Germany in mid-May, the German sports betting world also bounced back with high numbers. A situation that also affects the competition between the bookmakers. After the nearly three-months-long break due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the betting companies are now competing for new customers more than ever by introducing new features, offering special bonuses or providing better payment methods.
A recent survey published by the German bookmaker comparison portal My Sportwetten now shows which features, functions and offers German players like the most. The non-representative survey was conducted amongst the members of the My Sportwetten community, one of the biggest German betting groups with more than 11,000 users on the social media platform Facebook. The most important factor for German players when choosing a bookmaker is a wide range of leagues and sports to bet on. The second most important factor is a good cashout function, followed by good odds.
Also very high up in the ranking is the trustworthiness of a betting company, a well-designed betting app and bookmakers which don’t charge the betting tax. Since July 1st, German players have to pay 5% tax on every bet but some bookies like, for instance, the German market leader Tipico, use this betting tax as a sports bonus and pay the tax on behalf of the customer which leads to overall higher odds.
However, the survey doesn’t only show the most important features for German players but also the not so important ones. For example, the members of the My Sportwetten community are not really interested in playing in an online casino – even if it is part of a bookmaker’s program. Live streaming also doesn’t play a big role amongst the German tipsters, as well as a wide range of payment methods. An interesting fact: For several German players, PayPal can be a factor when they are looking for a new bookmaker.
