Moon World Resorts hopes to create the second-highest building on the Las Vegas skyline and the world’s largest spherical structure.

US.- Canada’s Moon World Resorts (MWR) is reported to be planning a $5bn hotel-casino that would have the second-highest building on the Las Vegas skyline and the world’s largest spherical structure, designed to resemble the moon.

It’s planning a 224-metre circumference hotel that would comprise a casino, 4,000 rooms, a cafe, conference centre, and a space-themed ride. It hopes to bring ten million visitors a year to Las Vegas. The project was originally planned for Coachella, California in 2016.

MWR Founder Michael Henderson said: “The specific area tourism authority did not want large scale projects and therefore our project was clearly not a good fit.”

He added: “In our view, [Las Vegas] is the state with the most progressive and professional planning authority, plus Nevada is not fearful of large scale hospitality projects, indeed it welcomes them.”

The project is expected to take four years to complete.
