The Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas resort will be split into two hotels: Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas.
US.- The 20-year-old Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas will be split into two hotels: Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas.
MGM Resorts said in a statement that will spend nearly half-a-billion dollars to convert the Monte Carlo into Park MGM and the NoMad Las Vegas, a sister to the Manhattan hotel of the same name. During construction works the hotel will remain open and it will continue to operate as the Monte Carlo until the re-branding.
MGM Resorts said that the US$450-million construction project will begin in late 2016 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2018. Corporate officials added that the two new hotels are the final pieces of a multibillion-dollar puzzle designed to reenergize the west side of Las Vegas Boulevard, between the Bellagio and New York-New York. Both properties will be adjacent to The Park, a dining and retail district and to the 20,000-seat T-Mobile Arena.
Each property will have its own line-up of amenities, including casinos and dining options. The NoMad’s signature restaurant will be created by Chef Daniel Humm and restaurateur Will Guidara. Their Eleven Madison Park in Manhattan boasts three Michelin stars. ON its part, the Park MGM will feature a new, 5,300-seat theatre, which is scheduled to launch later this year inside the still-open Monte Carlo.
