Mississippi town gets ready for sports betting
Mississippi has legalised sports betting after Supreme Court’s rule on PASPA amendment.
US.- The sports betting industry has already conquered most states of the USA and now Tunica is getting ready for the new competitor in the local gaming market. The town in Mississippi could start offering sports betting platforms by mid-August or September, according to a local press statement based on the government’s reports.
“We’ve been out to Vegas, New Jersey, really been all over the country, trying to get our knowledge up to speed,” said Allen Godfrey with the Mississippi Gaming Commission. “We’ve been working with properties hand in hand.”
The Mississippi Gaming Commission allowed the installation of sports betting offerings throughout legal casinos in the States, although most of them must revamp the facilities in order to be able to integrate the new technology. However, the town of Tunica is already set to add sports betting offerings in its casinos.
Caesars Mid-south with Tunica Roadhouse and Horseshoe is working hard to get sports gambling up and running by mid-August. Furthermore, local players can now bet on sports betting offerings at the Horseshoe Poker Room.
“There is a lot to do and a lot to learn,” Godfrey said. “Caesars with a presence in Nevada shouldn’t have trouble figuring it out.”
