MGM wants to acquire Sands Bethlehem casino

The casino confirmed that MGM could be a potential buyer.

US.- Las Vegas Sands announced on Friday that they’ve been approached by MGM Resorts International in relation to the potential sale of the facility. Even if both of them refused to acknowledge the rumors, several sources confirmed that MGM is interested in acquiring the Pennsylvania casino.

Las Vegas Sands is currently the most profitable casino in the state with net revenues of US$570 million in 2016. The facility announced a while ago that they were in talks about the possible selling of the casino, but they warned that it could end up in nothing. CalvinAyre reported that Pennsylvania state Senator Lisa Boscola is the one who confirmed that MGM is the unidentified suitor and that they made an offer that it’s fiddicult for Sands to refuse. Even if Sands Bethlehem has been performing very well in the state, the property is still behind other venues from the company like the ones in Macau, Singapore and Las Vegas.

Last month, officials said that they’re willing to invest at least US$10 billion in a possible Japanese casino. According to Sheldon Adelson, the Japanese market would lead to an even better opportunity of operations than the current successful casino in Singapore, Marina Bay Sands.
