MGM Springfield opens first building
The first building in MGM’s casino complex in Massachusetts has been opened this week as the project gets closer to its finishing date.
US.- The MGM Springfield in Western Massachusetts has opened the casino’s new administrative office building as it inaugurated the first building in the resort casino complex. The construction was designed to accommodate 300 corporate and human resource workers, while it also operates as a training school for potential casino workers.
This is the first open structure in the US$1 billion facility which is expected to generate 3k jobs and extend over three city blocks once it is finished. The completion date is set for September as the venue becomes the first Las Vegas-style resort in Massachusetts.
It will be located in downtown Springfield, Massachusetts, and is the product of a resolution adopted by the state Gaming Commission, which establishes that they would allow three casinos in the state. One of the licenses was granted to Wynn Boston Harbor, whilst the third one is still in suspense. There has been demolition and other site work in recent months within the 14.5 acre casino footprint between State Street and Union Street.
