MGM Resorts International receives final casino license
The construction of the US$ 950 million resort and casino was unanimously approved
US.- MGM confirmed the company finally got its casino license.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) allowed the construction but the approval of the project’s latest design is still pending. The idea of a 25-story building was discarded in favour of a low rise building and the apartment complex will be constructed outside the development. MGC will vote its approval for these changes on a later date.
“This approval has been a year in the making,” said Michael Mathis, president of MGM Springfield. “We are eager to bring this back to Springfield and work with the city to get final sign off for impactful demolition and construction,” he added.
