MGM partners with new football league

The casino company revealed that it has signed a deal with a new professional football league.

US.- MGM Resorts International has announced that it will invest in The Alliance of American Football to become the league’s official betting partner. The new professional league is expected to launch in 2019.

The three-year deal will see MGM search as the competition’s official sports betting sponsor. The Alliance is a new American football competition founded by TV producers, which are also members of the National Football League (NFL) Hall of Fame and former General Manager of franchises.

The inaugural competition is set to launch in February and will last until April 2019, during the NFL off-season. All states with legal sports betting operations will be eligible to offer real money wagering, including in-play betting through its App, using the platform operated by MGM and its partner, GVC Interactive.

MGM Resorts chairman and chief executive Jim Murren said: “We are excited to team with The Alliance on this unprecedented partnership, which allows us to fully engage with fans and revolutionize the fan experience. We look forward to expanding our customer base into this exciting new league and sports betting opportunity.”

The Alliance CEO and co-founder Ebersol said: We realised our overall mission and vision were in complete alignment with MGM. As one of the world’s largest and most successful gaming companies and an industry leader in innovation, together we can revolutionise the sports wagering experience for fans in a way that’s never been done before. I’m proud to welcome them to The Alliance as our first official corporate investor.”
