MGM Cotai to open in February

The Cotai property is expected to open on February 13.

Macau.- According to MGM representatives, the Macau casino resort is likely to kick off next month.

“On February 13, in anticipation of Chinese New Year, we will host the official grand opening ceremony and gala dinner to be officiated by our government officials and celebrated with our community and partners from all over the world who served an integral role in helping us successfully develop and bring this spectacular resort to the market,” revealed the statement.

MGM China announced that the grand opening will include promotional offers directed to individuals, families and business people through flexible and high value packages. The offers start at US$170 for a one night stay at MGM Cotai’s hotel, whilst an additional US$60 resort credit will be given to spend in the restaurants, spa and entertainment facilities of the guests’ choice. Ferry transportation and dining discounts when spending resort credits will also be given.

MGM China delayed the opening due to the Typhoon Hato that hit Macau during the last week of August and destroyed multiple parts of the city. Moreover, after the storm the casino went through a fire that left one of the workers in the hospital. During those two events, the facility was forced to close its doors for a month approximately.
