Melco holds meeting with Rodrigo Duterte

Melco Resorts and Entertainment and the President of Philippines Rodrigo Duterte held a meeting.

Philippines.- Representatives of Melco Resorts and Entertainment and the President of Philippines Rodrigo Duterte have allegedly met last week to discuss potential business in order to develop the casino industry in this touristic country. The information about the meeting was released by the government last Thursday.

The meeting was apparently related to the new project Melco is planning for this week. According to official sources, the international gaming company is installing a new luxury hotel brand NÜWA tomorrow January 16. The new building will replace the Crown Towers brand at COD Manila and COD Macau.

Lawrence Ho, chairman and chief executive officer of Melco Resorts and Entertainment Corporation (Philippines) and Clarence Chung, Entertainment Gaming Asia chief executive officer, as well as Executive Vice President Geoff Davis, Managing Director Evan Wincklen and President Geoffrey Andres were present at the meeting.

Meanwhile, the government was represented by the Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea and officials of Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), including Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Andrea Domingo and President and Chief Operations Officer Alfredo Lim; as well as PAGCOR directors Gabriel Claudio, Reynaldo Concordia, Carmen Pedrosa, and Corporate Secretary Juanito Sanosa Jr.
