Maryland casinos report revenue rise
The state’s six casinos reported a 7.3% increase in revenues during last month’s operations.
US.- Maryland Lottery and Gaming has announced that November 2018 gaming revenues for the state’s six casinos totalled US$140 million, which represents an increase of US$9,5 million – or 7.3% – compared to the November 2017 total of US$130.5 million.
Contributions to the state from November 2018 casino gaming revenue totalled US$57.4 million, including US$43 million for the Education Trust Fund. Casino gaming revenues also support local communities and jurisdictions where the six casinos are located, as well as Maryland’s horse racing industry.
Maryland has six privately owned casinos that offer both slot machines and table games: MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County; Live! Casino & Hotel in Anne Arundel County; Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in Baltimore City; Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County; Ocean Downs Casino in Worcester County; and Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County.
MGM National Harbor once again topped the chart as it brought in US$57.2 million, a 13.2% increase from 2017, while Live! Casino & Hotel brought in US$48.6 million for a 12% increase.
