Maryland casinos break revenue record
The six casinos operating in the state reported US$156.6 million in revenue and broke the previous record.
US.- May 2018 was the best month for casinos in Maryland as they all posted year-over-year gains. The six casinos in the state totalled US$156.6 million in revenue and broke the previous record set in March.
The state’s casinos reported US$156.6 million in revenue, which represents a 14.7 per cent increase when compared to the same month last year. MGM National Harbor was once again the top scorer, as it accounted 40 per cent of gaming revenue generated by all casinos last month, with a total of US$62.3 million and a 23.2 per cent revenue jump from 2017.
Live! Casino posted a 13.4 per cent jump from 2017 to US$52 million in gaming revenue. It is expected that the US$200 million hotel that was opened yesterday will help the facility improve its results even further.
Baltimore’s Horseshoe Casino increased its gaming revenue by two per cent from 2017 to US$24.1 million, while the state’s three smaller casinos, Hollywood Casino Perryville, Ocean Downs Casino and Rocky Gap Casino Resort, all posted a revenue increase.
