Ireland grants new licences

The gambling regulator has granted multiple licences to The Mansion Group for its sports book and casino verticals.

Ireland.- The Irish market will soon feature a new operator, as The Mansion Group revealed that it secured licences for its sports book property of MansionBet. The company also obtained licences for its casino verticals MansionCasino, Slots Heaven, casino.com.

Thanks to these new licences, the Gibraltar-based company will launch its full online gambling portfolio for the Irish gambling market. After the approval, MansionBet said that it has secured a key strategic goal for the brand, which launched last year in partnership with SBTech.

As part of the Irish approval celebration, the company will sponsor the Gibraltar FC vs Ireland football match that will take place at the Aviva Stadium on June 10.

Karel Manasco, CEO of Mansion said: It’s exciting to have Mansion licensed within Ireland. We recognise the size of the competition, but with over 15 years’ experience in the industry and strong brand recognition, I believe we have the knowledge, paired with an impressive product to succeed.

Ireland gets closer to a new gambling regulator

Ireland’s Government is planning to have an independent gambling regulator in place by the end of the current year. The independent body is expected to have a staff of 100 people.

The aim of this attempt is to clamp down on gambling, tackle gambling addiction, underage betting and match-fixing. The independent regulator would also be in charge of setting a new online gambling regulation.

Ireland’s government believes that without an independent body, there is no prospect of progressing modern licensing and regulation of the industry. The gambling regulator in Ireland is set to be funded mainly by bookmakers.

The authority will be able to develop and enforce licensing and regulatory measures regarding gambling activities in Ireland. This includes online betting, and it will also be in charge of player protection. Furthermore, it will establish a social fund for research, information campaigns and treatment for vulnerable players. Levies on betting companies will support all these initiatives.
