Macau.- The gaming sector continues to thrive in Macau and August won’t be an exception, at least for two world-renowned brokerages. According to both Sanford C. Bernstein Ltd and Nomura, gross gaming revenue for the territory’s casino is set to reach betweenUS$3.22 and US$3.27 billion by the end of this month, 15-17 per cent higher year-on-year.

Sanford C. Bernstein Ltd forecasted monthly GGR of US$3.24-3.27 billion (16-17 per cent higher than August 2017), based on “channel checks” that showed the index in the week ended August 19th averaged US$104 million a day. That’s why they expect GGR to average between US$100.8-103.2 million daily the rest of this month.

Meanwhile, Nomura predicted a 15 per cent GGR increase to US$3.21 billion during this month. Furthermore, it advanced a 3 per cent growth between July and August 2018 and said daily VIP gaming revenue was, on average, between 3 and 4 per cent higher month-on-month, while daily mass-market gaming revenue had been between 5 and 7 per cent higher.
