The gaming operators have received an extension on their complementary tax on casino gaming profits.

Macau.- The Official Gazette of Macau announced on Monday that the Chief Executive of the Macau SAR, Fernando Chui Sai On, has extended the exemption granted to Galaxy Casino and Venetian Macau from paying complementary income tax related to casino gaming profits to 2022.

Venetian Macau, a subsidiary of Sands China, originally establishes a gaming sub-concession contract with Galaxy that allowed the latter to operate in the Chinese gambling hub. The exemption extended to the companies starts on January 1, 2019, and ends on June 26th, 2022. The operators had already received a five-year exemption, which started on January 1, 2014.

Gaming companies are required to pay income complementary tax, as well as a special gaming tax that is calculated on the gross gaming revenue at a 35% rate and is paid every month.
